ALMAを始めとする、近年の高空間分解能観測から、原始星周囲にもケプラー円盤が存在することがわかってきました。これらのケプラー円盤は、Tタウリ型星周囲に見られる、原始惑星系円盤の前進だと考えられます。しかしながら、原始星周囲にいつ、どのように円盤が形成されるか、また、その円盤がどのようにTタウリ型星周囲の原始惑星系円盤へと進化をしていくのかは、そこでの磁場の役割も含めて、未だ十分に理解できたとは言えません。それらの理解には、より多くの円盤を原始星周囲で観測することが必要です。

本研究会では、原始星周囲の円盤に関する、現時点での我々の理解を、観測、理論の両面からサマリーし、その上で、原始星と原始星周囲の円盤の形成進化の解明を目的としたALMA Large Proposal (Cycle 4からオープンされるレガシー的大型プロポーザル)の可能性について議論をします。この研究会を通じて、この分野の研究を推進していくための研究チームの構築を目指します。そのために、日本や東アジア地域のみならず欧米からもこの分野における第一人者の方々を招き（以下の招待講演者のリストを参照）、全世界的な共同研究チームを構築し、プロポーザルの具体的な骨格策定、役割分担、ロードマップなどの議論を行います。本ワークショップの性質上、ご参加を検討されている方は単に自身の研究のプレゼンテーションのみならず、研究チームに参画され、具体的な貢献をして下さることを希望致します。
